About SEPAG:
The Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) for Rumson School District is a collaborative platform designed to support parents and guardians of students with special needs within our community. SEPAG serves as a liaison between families, educators, administrators, and the Board of Education to ensure that every student receives the support and resources they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Goals:
  • Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and rights of students with special needs within the Rumson School District.
  • Support: Provide a supportive network for parents and guardians of children with special needs, offering resources, guidance, and opportunities for connection.
  • Education: Foster understanding and awareness of special education policies, procedures, and best practices among parents, educators, and the broader community.
  • Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration and communication between parents, educators, administrators, and the Board of Education to promote inclusive and effective educational practices.
  • Empowerment: Empower parents and guardians to actively participate in their child's educational journey and decision-making process.
Mission:
The mission of SEPAG is to empower and support parents and guardians of students with special needs, to advocate for the inclusion, equity, and success of all students within the Rumson School District, and to foster a collaborative partnership between families, educators, administrators, and the community.

Vision:
Our vision is of a Rumson School District where every student, regardless of their abilities or challenges, has equal access to high-quality education, individualized support, and opportunities for success. We envision a community that values diversity, embraces inclusion, and works together to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.
